Lessons Learned from the Campaigns to Keep the Kings in Sacramento
Presented by the Social Media Club Sacramento
Event features founders and major contributors from #HereWeBuild
#HereWeStay, and SacDeflated.com
Thursday, June 9th at the Citizen Hotel
Leveraged in virtual reality over blogs, Twitter and Facebook and spilling into the real world of council meetings and rallies, the fight to keep the Kings in Sacramento captured the hearts and attention of NBA fans across the nation. Leading the charge were social media-inspired grassroots campaigns #HereWeBuild, #HereWeStay, SacDeflated.com and their spinoff campaigns #HereWeSit and #HereWePurple. Ultimately, the public pressure built by these campaigns over social media channels helped result in the Kings decision to remain in Sacramento for another year.
Presented by the Sacramento Chapter of the Social Media Club, a panel of founders and major contributors to these campaigns will discuss key learnings and best practices from their experiences on the front lines of launching and running successful social media grassroots campaigns.
